Dying To Have Sex…

Another mind boggling story from the Telegraph tells of the role of a Christian Hospice organization that apparently assisted a young man in procuring a prostitute that he might lose his virginity before his untimely death.

Sister Frances Dominica says, “I know that some people will say ‘You are a Christian foundation. What are you thinking about?’. But we are here for all faiths and none,” she said.

I wonder how it is decided which sins are alright to sponsor for the dying? Is there some kind of sliding scale that takes into account how many years you are likely to live, and how emotionally charged your requested sin is?

  1. If there was a sliding scale like that, then Jesus most certainly would have told both thieves that they would both see him in paradise. But it doesn’t say that, does it?

“And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.” - Luke 23:43 (emphasis mine)

Alas, it doesn’t look like the heinousness of our sins are mitigated simply by the eminence of death.

It also doesn’t look like this “Christian” Hospice believes in this heinousness aspect of sin, nor the eternal consequences. It’s not that allowing such activity sends people to Hell. It’s that allowing such activity makes it seem like this life is all there is, so live it up.
