According to an article in the Telegraph, scientists have discovered “a planet on which conditions are the most conducive for extraterrestrial life of any so far discovered.” The planet, called Gliese 581c, will not be given a proper name until it has been photographed. My guess is that it will be some time before we see a photograph of Gliese 581c as it is 120 trillion miles from Earth. Its existence is postulated by “reading” the wobble of light coming from its parent star Gliese 581…not exactly conclusive evidence at this point.

I’m not sure how finding life would disprove God. Still, I find the idea highly unlikely. I disagree with the idea that space exploration and examination is a waste of time and money.

Secular society and scientists will use life on other planents to say that earth isn’t special and that evolution must explain ALL life in the universe, after all, why would God create two “earth’s” or beings to worship him? Again, that’s what the nonbelievers will say if life is ever discovered somewhere else. Personally, I don’t think there is other life out there and I hope none is ever found. As far as money is concerned, I used to think exploring space was a great thing, but now that I know the reasons for exploration and how discoveries are twisted to fit evolutionary thought, I’d rather my tax dollars go somewhere else…like dropping a bomb on Osama’s head or arresting criminals…and of course protecting the second amendment!

Finding life on another planet proving God doesn’t exist is like finding life on a remote island continent centuries ago proving the same thing.
I’m not sure about these wobble methods their using, but I saw a documentary about it. They seemed quite convinced in the documentary.
Mind you, this planet is really close, by astronomical standards. The closest star besides the Sun, Alpha-Proxima, is over 4 light-years away. With our current theoretical technology (Ion Drive, proven to work in 1998), we might be able to get a craft there in one person’s life-time.
This Gliese 581c is 15 light-years away. That’s why this is so interesting.
Yes, a lot of money will be spent to help us get a few digital images. Yes, we might find out that this is a perfect “alpha-sight” for the human race to live and destroy like Earth. Some people define hope in different ways.

I agree, if life were discovered many non-Christians would use it as “proof” that God does not exist. Personally, I think it would just make God seem even more cool. I certainly don’t wish for us not to find life somewhere else. If there is life then God created it. Perhaps we could become interstellar evangelists? I believe the Bible is full of God’s instruction to us to be prepared, to study, etc. I think exploring the universe is good stewardship of our resources as long as it is done properly.

god is inside of every human being waiting to be discovered,life elsewhere?It makes no difference,god is life and life is light indestructable.regardless of aliens or other entities,governments etc.
