There comes a time when you have to decide where you are going to throw your vote. I’ve gone back and forth on this one, but I finally decided, “what the hay”.

Show me another candidate as truly conservative as Paul, and I’ll consider changing my vote. We (conservatives) talk about all this conservative ideology that would make everything great, but Ron Paul actually votes for it. I’m voting for Paul knowing full well that he will not win the primary and I will then be forced to make the same crappy decision you are making now (and too early some might argue). Primary = Vote Ideals. General Election = Lesser Of Two Evils.

So it sounds like Anthony finally got to you.
Ron Paul is nuts. We don’t need a 1930’s isolationist Republican in a post 9/11 world. He can be all things conservative but his foreign policy would do more to hurt this country than any Democrat could do.

im down with ron pauls conservatism. ill also be down in the grave with his foreign policy. not to be oversimplistic about it, but when the people who want me dead are in a different country then the military has to be there.
if paul had shown the slightest willingness to deal with terrorism as it exists today, i would be the 5th member of the RP revolution.
huckabee is done for. he is another example, as if we needed one of why iowa means nothing.
john mccain is the only republican candidate who beats hillary in a head to head. mccain is a fine example. mccain will tell putin were to stick it, and wont take any crap from iran, but of course he voted against the some tax cuts, sponsered mccain finegold, has supported moderate gun control, helped write the amensty bill that the entire country just about exploded over and on and on. if we could just take a small piece of each candiate a make a super candidate…..yessssss….its all coming together, i can do it.if i can only harness the lightning energy….ill take RP fiscal policy, rudy’s leadership, romenys business experience, huckabees social positions…..and throw in my own hatred of hillary! yes…..its alive…its alive!!!

With regard to our foreign policy, Adam, Torri, please read: Family War Budget.

Better on war, than on the lazy and poor!
The amount we spend on defense and war is minute compared to how much we spend on Social Security and other entitlement programs. During the 50’s-80’s we spent a lot more than we do on defense today. If I had a choice, my tax dollars would go straight to the military. Nothing for welfare, nothing for roads, nothing for social security, maybe some for fire and police but that’s it. Unfortunatley, the military is the only government institution that has succeeded historically. (We’re 12-1 in wars) that’s a pretty good record. Now does this sound cold to say, maybe, but the fact is, we are going to be involved in wars, it’s human nature and part of American history. We have a war every 20-30 years. I hate to say it but we love war, we glorify it on TV, movies, in books and video games. Most importantly, we would not be the nation we are without it, heck we wouldn’t even be a nation without war. Do I want war, no I want peace, but sometimes you have to kill the other guys to get there.

There is so much damage being done to the practice of reasoned (read logic) dialog in your (Torri) comments that I don’t know where to start. So I’m not going to. As is the case so many times when you speak, you leave me speachless…and people that know me can attest that that is quite amazing!

No please do, I would like to hear it.
Comment by Torri — January 26, 2008 @ 5:27 pm
No. I don’t think it would be wise for me to do so.
