Helvetica…

Helvetica is a brilliant documentary that takes its name from the ever present typeface, helvetica. The film is at heart not about a single font, font design, or even artistic design in general, but rather it uses typeface as a medium to explore the differences of modern and postmodern philosophy. Helvetica does not simply show the differences in artistic direction and motivation of two distinct philosophies, but moves back and forth between generations and philosophies to help the viewer understand the effects of one philosophy upon another. Brilliant!
